TILLSAMMANS at Thielska Galleriet, Stockholm, February 15 – August 24, 2025
Martin Bergström (b. 1978) and Thomas Klementsson (b. 1974) have co-operated on numerous projects for nearly two decades, although their practices are mainly individual. Bergström studied at the Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm and Universität der Künste in Berlin. He is an internationally acclaimed artist and designer, alternating freely between different disciplines. Bergström is best known for his handmade floral prints. Klementsson is a celebrated photographer and filmmaker renowned for his dreamy visuals that allure, intrigue and mystify the viewer. In their joint film projects, the two artists combine their individual artistic styles, where dancers enact creations by Bergström and are suggestively filmed by Klementsson.

Disey at The Def Jam Tour 1987
Exhibition
ABOUT
A rare time capsule that takes us backstage at one of hip-hop's most legendary tours. In 1987, Public Enemy joined LL Cool J on a European tour that would go down in history, and the sirens opening their shows later appeared on Public Enemy's next album, It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back.
On November 13, 1987, at the Ritz in Stockholm, two graffiti artists, Disey and Ziggy, found their way backstage, thanks to none other than Flavor Flav. What started as a chance encounter turned into a front-row pass to history. Disey had his Nikon FE with him, snapping shots of the crew behind the scenes, on stage, and at record signings. The energy was raw. The movement was real. The images curated by Skarp Projects are a portal to a time before hip-hop was a billion-dollar industry, before its aesthetic ruled fashion weeks and luxury maisons. In these frames, LL Cool J and Public Enemy aren’t just performers; they are revolutionaries, shaping a movement in real-time and showing the world what was coming.
Fast forward to 2023, hip-hop is not just at the top of the charts; it’s shaping fashion, culture, and global influence, from Pharrell’s Louis Vuitton debut to ASAP Rocky being appointed Ray-Ban's creative director. But in ’87, none of that was guaranteed. Hip-hop was still breaking barriers, still forcing its way in. What Disey captured in those photos was the exact moment it became unstoppable – when the culture expanded beyond the Bronx, beyond America, and made it clear: this wasn’t just a movement. This was the future.

Mönstrade Positioner
Exhibition
ABOUT
Since the turn of the millennium, pattern design has undergone a radical revolution, encompassing design methods, production techniques, and artistic processes – largely propelled by new digital technologies. In PRINTED POSITIONS, contemporary textile print design is explored through works by 14 influential Nordic designers and artists.
Curated by Martin Bergström and Andrea Hasselrot, the exhibition takes the audience on a journey through the multidisciplinary patterns of today, where distinctions between interior design and fashion, ugliness and beauty, digital and analogue, and abstract and concrete are becoming increasingly blurred. This is an age that in one moment takes inspiration from nature and the next works with abstraction, moving between the future and the past, the playfully humorous and the graphically strict.
MÖNSTRADE POSITIONER / PRINTED POSITIONS at Textilmuseet, October 14, 2023 – August 25, 2024
The project is a collaboration between Textilmuseet, Skarp Projects and curators Martin Bergström & Andrea Hasselrot. Exhibition catalogue by Skarp Projects and Studio Bon is sold at Textilmuseet.

Födas och att föda
Exhibition
ABOUT

Sailing Stones
Design Collaboration
ABOUT
In 2022 Marrakech Design and Martin Bergström introduced The Sailing Stones collection, a fusion of traditional tile craftsmanship and visionary design that reimagines patterns for a poetic future. Produced using time-honored techniques, the collection features five distinct designs: Core, Crust, Grid, Sepal and Track. In 2025 we expand the collection, unveiling six new colorways for the Track pattern.
“I strive to find simplicity in an increasingly complex world. I want the colors to evolve with time, blending seamlessly into the life unfolding within the space” says Bergström of the new hues.

Opaque Objects
Design Collaboration
ABOUT
An ongoing design collaboration with Skultuna launching new items annually. The Opaque Objects series created by Martin Bergström, draws inspiration from the cosmic allure of outer space and the enigmatic beauty of the henbane plant. With this collection, Bergström sought to intertwine Skultuna’s 400-year legacy of craftsmanship and tradition. Delving into the brand’s archives, he uncovered the rich history of Skultuna and its surroundings. His research led him to a striking discovery – a meteorite had crashed just miles from Skultuna on June 28, 1876. This celestial event became the catalyst for the collection, infusing it with an otherworldly elegance and a sense of timeless mystery.

Blockografi
Exhibition
ABOUT

Texografi
Exhibition
ABOUT

Klarna Doggy Bag
Design Commission
ABOUT
Klarna solves subway travel for dog-loving New Yorkers with new dog carrier. A challenging design commission resolved by artist Martin Bergström.
NEW YORK, NY (November 18, 2019) — The ban of pets on the NYC subway has recently sparked lively debate and creativity within the city’s dog community. Klarna, the global payment innovator and retail disruptor who loves to solve everyday challenges for consumers, has developed a customized shopping bag – designed specifically to enable commuters to carry their dogs on the subway.
David Sandstrom, CMO of Klarna commented: “The Klarna Doggy Bag was inspired by the innovative takes on the MTA rules, where New Yorkers started carrying their dogs around in anything that just barely resembled “an enclosed container”. With this bag, our four-legged best friends not only get a proper, vet-approved bag to be carried around in – it is also the only shopping bag you’ll ever need – as the rest will be taken care of in the Klarna shopping app”.
An exclusive run of Klarna’s Doggy Bags will be available for online purchase at Rescue Dogs Rock NYC (@rescuedogsrocknyc) dog shelter from November 18 where all proceeds will help abandoned dogs find a new home.
The bag will be equally appealing to dogs as to their owners, as the Doggy Bag is made out of super soft faux fur for maximum canine coziness. On the inside, one part of the bag is designed for owner human use with handy pockets for metro card and cell phone, while the other side is crafted with the dog’s needs in mind, featuring holders for treats on the go as well as a pocket for poop bags. To ensure it meets the highest standards of style, comfort and safety, the bag has been designed together with designer Martin Bergström in close collaboration with a licenced veterinarian.
David Sandstrom continues, “This bag is our way of giving something back to the dog owning community of New York, making their daily commute into a smoother ride while also creating awareness for all the abandoned dogs at shelters looking for new homes”
